What’s on this page
Nobody pays to read Top-Casinos.co.nz; casinos cover the bill. Below is the full mechanism, set down so you can judge our verdicts knowing who funds them.
The ledger in one table
| What can earn us money | What never does |
|---|---|
| A reader opening an account through one of our casino buttons | A place in a top list |
| Play by referred readers, under a revenue-share contract | A star rating or a review score |
| A combined fee agreed with a single operator | The wording of a verdict or a warning |
Who pays and for what
Certain brands pay a single flat sum after a newcomer from our pages registers and funds the account. Others share part of what they keep from those players after wins are paid, for as many months as the deal runs. A few mix the two. Percentages and sums vary by casino and are confidential under the agreements, which is why we do not print them.
Contracts are signed by our publisher, Carrowmere Media Ventures Limited. Reviewers do not see the commercial terms of the casinos they test and are not paid per sign-up.
How to tell a paid link
Any link whose address starts with top-casinos.co.nz/go/ is an affiliate link. Every casino button inside our rankings and reviews is built on that route. It sends you on to the operator and tells the casino that the visit started here. When a guide cites the Department of Internal Affairs, the Gambling Helpline, a game studio or a news outlet, that link carries no tag and pays us nothing.
Do you pay extra?
Not a cent. Arriving through our button gets you the same welcome deal the casino shows on its own homepage. You pay us nothing; the fee is the casino’s cost of finding a customer and is never deducted from what you deposit or win.
How rankings are actually set
Every casino is scored on the same four checks: the licence it holds, whether it handles New Zealand dollars directly, how withdrawals work in practice, and what the wagering on its offers really demands. A casino that pays us can land at the bottom of a list, and one that pays nothing can sit at the top if it earns the place.
We do know that a commission-paying operator is a commercial interest, and we treat that as a reason for more scrutiny rather than less. Should a partner make its rules harsher, our write-up says so in the same plain words we would use for anyone else.
When a deal ends
Partnerships are not permanent. If a contract lapses, our write-up keeps its place and its mark and the button either becomes a plain link or is removed from the page entirely within days. We do not delete a critical review because a partner asked, and we do not bury an operator because it stopped paying.
Sponsored articles
We do not currently publish sponsored articles. If that ever changes, any such piece will carry the word “Sponsored” above the headline, and it will not be presented as one of our reviews.
Your part of the deal
A commission is earned only if you sign up, so the decision stays yours. Go through the casino’s small print ahead of any deposit, set a limit you can live with, and keep in mind that the minimum age is 18. If it starts to hurt, phone 0800 654 655 (Gambling Helpline) or text 8006. More on the limits of what we promise is on Limits of this guide.
